STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER, Application Support/Development |
Responsible for maintaining,
supporting, analyzing, coding, and designing software solutions using COBOL,
JCL, CICS, and DB2 in a mainframe environment.
- Technical lead in shutdown of Columbus legacy "consumer" system, allowing
staff to concentrate on other areas.
- Developed a solution to track problems and discover the root cause of an
issue that created 30-40 problem tickets per day. Able to discover the cause,
and reduce the number of tickets to less than 10 per month.
- Reduced a job's run time from nearly 18 hours to less than 15 minutes,
preventing Service Level Agreement issues and maintaining goodwill for a large
client. Awarded a Sigma Award.
- Developed program to automate a manual process that was needed in order to
allow customer care associates to close call logs. Program needed to mimic the
manual processes, and involved converting those processes into algorithms in
order to accomplish the task.
- Assisted in migration of major client from old to new system. Client was
successfully migrated with no impact.

Responsible for setting up,
and implementing JCL for electronic billing.
- Designed a process that would eliminated processing windows and allow
anytime processing of bill files.
- Wrote procedure document for job set-ups to be used by new hires in
department. Process shortened the learning curve.
